Live Earth set out to be different. The moment we started planning our concert events for July 7, 2007, the Live Earth Green Team aimed to bring them as close to the ideal of “zero net impact” as we possibly could. We projected our energy and resource use, developed a plan to mitigate our impact, and held everyone accountable for success. Disclosure of the process and results is an essential step for setting benchmarks and making event-over-event, year-over-year progress.
After an 11-week accounting and audit, here is the Live Earth Carbon Assessment & Footprint Report. In the end, we achieved more than we ever thought possible. This report shows you how we did it, what some other events have measured and where we think the industry should be in terms of carbon performance. As more and more live events plan, reduce, measure and report, we will move the industry forward.

the use of motorized stuff for recreation (motor bikes, quad bikes, power boats, etc) should be banned. Is there anything more stupid to waste petrol and pollute for “fun”?

Trains carring coal are usually not covered and they are supposed to be (by law). Unhealthy coal dust spreads for many miles as it has been going on for a century.

I must admit that I can only see another form of green washing on this site and what is happening her. Alot of blah!!! There is so much more to be done than what is here and as far as live earth I can not see any advantage or greener ways that you guys have committed to!!!
Where is the picture of the solar powered stages for the events?? Where are the electric vehicles used to put on the event or clean it up?? where are the pictures of the millions of recycled bottles brought by all the music fans ( and there were millions of bottles at the events!!)
Where is the solar powered servers used to send this info out to everyone across the planet??
Where are the people advocating a renewable future in the ongoing bull*&*&^ politics iin this presidential campaign??
You guys really need to revamp and reorganise with much stricter goals and means!!!
As a sustainable consultant in America even I can say this is but a sad attempt to please the masses and for what means??
Where are all the solar installations from the profits ?
PLEASE GROW SOME STANDARDS THAT RESIDE MORE IN THE EURO MENTALITY,…AMAERICAN STYLE IS SAD AND SO FAR BEHIND!!!
raise the bar people!!!!

I understand water and its life cycle. There is nothing we do not know we just need to remember it says Deepak Choopra.
I know starting with your very thoughts is a perfect place to start but the reality is we need to start with human ego first. Ego is The Ripple on the Wave but it thinks it’s the wave. Wayne Dwyer.
In a beautiful place like Australia where our great barrier reef is bleaching ever day as our water warms, or is it what we flush down our drain.
My point is making a call to action in your life through understanding we have a very futuristic mind (some) but we live in a very primitive (some) world or do we? It sure is changing
My first understanding is eat great food, drink pure filtered water, then Stop poisoning your largest organ, we will then reduce the poisoning occurring to our water way. It’s such an easy step to change. We as consumer use more skincare body care, hair care and makeup in a life time then food. The point is it all goes down the drain so make it pure not synthetic. Synthetic never breaks down, Ever!
I urge business and intelligent human beings to strive for the next breath of life. Look to mind your body or your spirit is not sustainable. Start at home, make sure what you surround yourself with is an eco choice for our earth. Then you will tap into all the resources and like minded people to support your journey.
Be bold, be brave change your way now you’re been told by many great carers of this beautiful planet that you have a choice. You and I and every living energy illuminate change for the highest good of us and everyone else involved.
..Where ever there is water there is life.

Concerned about preservation of the earths forests, in particular the Amazon rain forest and Pacific northwest. These forests also sustain the atmosphere, provide humidity allowing rain, which also provides fresh water and the forests help keep the earth cool. Is there an aspect to the efforts here that also address this?
