Live Earth has created a unique opportunity to raise funds that benefit the Alliance for Climate Protection (www.allianceforclimateprotection.org) and its continued efforts to spread environmental education to a global population.

Live Earth will be using the power and reach of eBay’s Giving Works to list auction items that will support the Live Earth concert and the Alliance for Climate Protection. Twenty percent (20%) of all donations collected through the auction process benefit the Alliance for Climate Protection directly. 

The first phase of the auction, managed by Auction Cause, which includes Live Earth tickets, travel packages, and special pre-event items, began Thursday, June 14th.  As items come available, they will be added to the Live Earth auction. 

In an effort to prevent the planet from “spontaneously combusting” like one of their various incendiary, expired drummers, Christopher Guest, Michael McKean and Harry Shearer along with Rob Reiner will host a private, exclusive meet-and-greet dinner in Los Angeles for the highest bidder on THIS IS DINNER WITH SPINAL TAP.  Be sure and place your bid! 

The second phase of the auction, which includes artist signed merchandise, including Gibson guitars, Live Earth t-shirts and posters, and other cool items like Spinal Tap's Derek Smalls' bass guitar will begin Thursday, July 12th.
