Dear (Name of your representative)
The climate crisis is the greatest threat facing our world today - we are almost out of time to stop the consequences. I am concerned about climate change because (add your reasons for being concerned here). We must take action now. On 7/7/07 millions of people around the world came together to watch the Live Earth concerts and learn more about what individuals, businesses, and communities can do to stop the climate crisis. We need strong leadership from you – we need to set binding targets for reducing our carbon emissions. We demand a treaty in the next 2 years. I am asking that you commit to working toward this goal.

I've taken the Live Earth pledge – will you?

Here's the first point:
I demand that my country join an international treaty within the next 2 years that cuts global warming pollution by 90% in developed countries and by more than half worldwide in time for the next generation to inherit a healthy earth.I look forward to your response.

Thank you,
(don't forget to include your name and address)

Thanks for taking action and demanding responsible leadership to solve the climate crisis.

I had the fortunate

I had the fortunate experience to attend Live Earth. It is high time the U.S. takes an initiative to do something about Global Warming. We are the biggest cause of the problem, but no one seems to want to make a solution. Well, the time has come to make a solution or else its bye, bye, Earth.

Dear Doug Lamborn,

As my representative in the house of Congress for Colorado Springs, Colorado, I am calling on you to step up to the plate and work on passing legislation to help reduce carbon emissions, reduce pollution and begin a clear path for Americans to make choices that are moving us in the direction of using renewable energy sources.
In my own home we use solar hot water for household heat and hot water. We purchased a Toyota prius Hybrid, and we have replaced many lightbulbs with the new energy saving ones. What can you do to help more Americans make positive changes like going to solar, and buying hybrid cars? By passing legislation you can encourage utilities across the nation to move from coal and gas to wind power and other sources of renewable energy. Fund the research for energy sources we don't even know how to talk about yet. Provide incentives for households to go solar and purchase cars that use less oil. Proved incentives to automobile manufacturers to develop energy saving vehicles.

There's a lot you can do! What have you done so far in this area?

Sincerely, Jacqueline Ostrom

Dear Sir, 05-12-2007 I

Dear Sir, 05-12-2007

I am Abdul Kareem, an Environmentalist, native of Kerala State of India. I am attaching herewith a file containing more information about me.

Today, one of the most serious problems confronting mankind, as you would probably agree, Is “Global Warming” ?. The consequent climatic changes, natural calamities like Katrina, Rita and the damages they inflict are subjects, which are discussed at length?. However, no viable solution is seen coming forth from any part of the world.

Today, the entire world is concerned with the material comfort of man alone and prominent media like ‘New York Times’, ‘Washington Post’ and ‘Time Magazine’ are publishing some important news at least as “fillers” in their columns. For instance, we are not oblivious of the objections raised by personalities like Dr. Glen Berry (PRESIDENT,ECOLOGICAL INTERNET,NEWYORK) against the destruction of rainforest for cultivation of soya and oil palm in Indonesia

The situation that gives over importance for man, who is only one of the beings on the earth and lesser importance for the sustenance of earth and protection of nature, which is essential for the existence of all living beings calls for a change.

Therefore, my humble request to media giants like ‘Time Magazine’ is to give importance to the protection of earth and its living beings and promote organizations and individuals that work sincerely for such end results.

The earth and its living beings even Time Magazine can survive only through such attempts.

The failure of summits like Rio de Janeiro and Kyoto Protocol proves that efforts to mitigate ‘Global Warming’ by curtailing development activities and inturn reducing the use of carbondioxide is not an easy to implement remedy.

What I want to say based on my 27 years of experience is that “forestation (regenerating natural forest)” is the only enduring solution. Hope that media and other actors will give priority to such issues and channelise their efforts in this direction henceforth.

Dear Community Citizens, Over

Dear Community Citizens,
Over these few years there has been an increase of global disasters such as hurricanes, tsunamis, earthquakes and floods all because of global warming. We went from having snow that went up to our knees to almost skipping winter this year. So what does that tell you? It means the world is coming to an end if this keeps up. You might think ‘Oh well it’s just one piece of garbage I’m littering and the earth is huge it could never fall apart’ but every little bit counts until it adds up to be something we’ll all regret. This society has become lazy and careless, we procrastinate and say I’ll take care of it tomorrow but tomorrow never comes, it’s about what’s happening now and the decisions we make today. We’re born on this earth to live life as best as we can but not only for ourselves for the others we care about. I know what you’re all thinking; you’re thinking ‘by the time the earth is destroyed I’ll already be gone so why take care of something that can’t benefit me?’ Well think about your children, the next generation, they deserve better than that and shouldn’t pay for your mistakes.
Everywhere I see smoke creating pollution. Garbage on the ground, memorial places that looks like a dump yard, why can’t we wait until we reach a garbage bin? Why must we thrown away a simple wrapper that we can just hold on to? Is it because it gets in the way or just too lazy to walk a few meters? Could it be that we love the thrill of doing a criminal act? Well you’re not being cool by being lazy, it’s pathetic. Cigarettes are the #1 earth destroying product out there. First of all it will kill you, second it pollutes and second hand smoke, but the most common thing is littering after it’s done. Transportation has become the #1 air polluting product, everybody needs one and it seems like walking is out of style these days. What’s so wrong with walking? Its exercise that means you get healthier and you’re little bit of a hero.
The truth is everything has a consequence and sometimes you think you get away with it but the innocents get hurt and karma will hit you ‘what goes around comes around” all because of that casual drive or that one piece of wrapper you can’t seem to hold on to One day it could be you caught in a tornado or drowning in the flood that you helped start. Why do we learn from our mistakes once it happens? Why can’t we learn and avoid the mistake that could cause someone’s life? You shouldn’t be mad at the world or God if something goes the wrong way or the weather’s not nice, you should just be disappointed at yourself.
We all know the solutions to help the world but why don’t we listen? You hear it all the time. Do this, do that! So how come we try to do the opposite? We rebel for the wrong reasons. Listen to your moral conscience. I’m just sharing my moral viewpoint to get the word out so you should do that same. I’m not saying that we should be perfect but at least reduce some of those mistakes. We just human but we have the power to change the future for all of mankind. Don’t let animals get extinct or nature to become nothing but a dry desert. Don’t be afraid to share your opinions or stand up for you beliefs.
Don’t stand by, Stand up!

Global warming is the most

Global warming is the most important issue of the 21st century and we ignore it at the peril of our very lives. If we, the humans of this planet, do not start making radical changes in our life styles there will be no humans in the 22nd Century.

As a nation, we need to start living in harmony with nature and learn to protect the very earth that gives us life. When the seas and the rivers have no more fish, when the earth can no longer provide nourishment, when the trees no longer give fruits then we will realize that money cannot be eaten! Congress needs to encourage alternate energy solutions and/or usage with grants and laws i.e. return of the electric car, solar and wind energy, higher energy efficiency standards for homes, require measures to capture and reuse grey water, cities should be encouraged to remove codes that require lawns and alter them to allow naturally drought tolerant plants, tax credits or rebates should be expanded for homes that add water cisterns or similar systems that capture and store rainwater, etc. These are just a few items that should be encouraged and would start helping to save the planet. Congress must act now not a year or tens years from now if we, as a people, are to save our planet.

The United States of America must develop alternative sources of energy, which are environmentally friendly, renewable and sound. Why would Congress not wish to see this nation free of its oil dependency? This Country needs to encourage, with grants and laws, a bio fuel solution for our transportation as well as solar and wind energy for our homes. There are a number of enterprising people and companies working on ethanol derived from corn, straw, wheat and corn discards as well as the Brazilian solution with sugar cane. It is time that Congress voted the monies, time, energy and resources of this nation on Alternative Energy Solutions which the majority of the people in this Country agree is something which is absolutely needed and more than past its time to be happening. Liquid coal is not the solution due to the high-energy cost and high pollution cost of making it. Nuclear power is also not the solution to any of the energy problems of this nation or the world for that matter, especially considering the problem of disposing of the uranium, which will be radioactive and pose a threat for at least 10,000 years!

It is time that the American carmakers got out of bed with the oil companies. The lack of foresight by the American automaker has not only cost them money it has cost American citizens jobs. GM deserves to go out of business just because they destroyed their own best idea - the electric car. If they will not wake up and help the environment willingly then Congress needs to make sure that they do by raising the standards. The car companies can raise the standards (just look at the hybrid cars) but they do not want to get out of bed with the oil companies. They honestly do not care about the environment or their own workers because if they did they would have already made the changes years ago.

I demand everyone do

I demand everyone do something to a stop global warning.

Dear Elected

Dear Elected Congressman/officials. Its simple, it you know that the climate crisis is a THREAT then why are you waiting to stop/correct the threat. It is your responsibility to fight for the good of this country and to preserve world respect for your honest and effective actions. I ask you now to confront these issues and to address them by 2010, not 2020 or 2030, which is too far off to turn back the hands that needed to be turned back in 1970; when we realized the crisis then 37 years ago, so why are we waiting? Please act now and join the fight to correct policy/regulations/mandates that will support a better/healthier tomorrow for all. Thank you Leonora Gerardi

I have no problem with taking

I have no problem with taking steps to recycle and some other ways to care for the world God gave mankind. We are supposed to take care of what we have but...

I have a HUGE problem with people like you that intentionally leave “God” out of everything and attempt to turn all of God’s creation into either an accident, or in the case of people, little evolutionary mini-gods.

You and your ilk are desperately trying to convince people and get them to buy-in to the idea that somehow people can change and/or control the weather.

Somehow, I am not convinced that even in your utter ignorance you truly believe this sham and fraud; but, I suppose the money and notoriety you get from this sham and fraud is nice. The money makes it so you can either ignore or pay for all this usless garbage that a huge majority will not be able to afford. At some point, the living standard of a mjority will suffer and be reduced. But I guess you operate on “the end justifies the means,” and like Gore and others who are making millions from people who are both ignorant of God and Science, you have made enough money it won't affect your life-style. The end of course is money, power, and control; the means sham, fraud, lies.

The earth and probably the universe as well have changed from time to time since God created it and will, no doubt, continue to change until Christ returns and destroys it at the time of judgement. And just think, all of this God with without benefit of His human creation. God CREATED everything down to the minutest detail in a perfectly ordered way. God DID destroy the world once, with water, and has promised that He will come again to JUDGE the living and the dead and DESTROY this earth at that time. Do you actually believe God needs the help of His creation to do what He has promised? Do you actually believe that, in light of God's promise, we humans can do anything at all to change God's ultimate plan?

Are you so vain and self-centered that you truly believe you or your entire ilk, or heaven forbid, the forcible compliance by a majority can actually CHANGE or ALTER in any substantial way the weather?

What I see and hear is not even Science. True Science is FACT. Gravity is a FACT and it is agreed on as a fact. Consensus IS NOT Science, consensus is not FACT. It doesn’t matter how many people “agree” that there is NO gravity, or that somehow gravity can be changed, or how many closed meeting are conducted so that nothing close to FACT can be presented, or how many taxes are raised or how many laws are enacted to force the issue by changing the life-style of as many as possible, or how many children you can convince, like Henny-Penny, that the sky is falling, gravity is a FACT and not subject to human beings consensus that there is no gravity. Al the taxes, laws, and fraudlent information WILL NOT change that fact.

But someone like Gore is not so stupid as to choose something that doesn't change--daily as a rule. He picked something that changes constantly.

Weather fluctuates and always has but as far as this utter FRAUD that people are the cause therefore people can make the weather patterns change is arrogance and vanity beyond comprehension on parade!

Shame on you for duping the unsuspecting; and for the followers, especially those who say they are Christians shame on you too.

Your hope is to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and be saved. Then for a change, listen to what God says. I promise, you will be amazed at what God does and continues to do for His creation.

A country song line comes to mind and unfortunately seems to apply to a huge number of people--"you've got to stand for something or you'll fall for anything."

Now that this prescedent is set it will be interesting to see who comes up with the next imiginary crisis so they too can become rich and powerful and control as many as possible!
