Al Gore

Former Vice President Al Gore is the author of the bestsellers Earth in the Balance and An Inconvenient Truth and is the subject of an Oscar-winning documentary. Al Gore is the co-winner, with the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, of the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize for "informing the world of the dangers posed by climate change." He chairs the Alliance for Climate Protection, a non-profit organization designed to help solve the climate crisis.

He is chairman of Current TV, an Emmy award winning, independently owned cable and satellite television nonfiction network for young people based on viewer-created content and citizen journalism. He also serves as chairman of Generation Investment Management, a firm that is focused on a new approach to sustainable investing. Al Gore is a member of the board of directors of Apple, a senior adviser to Google, and a partner with the venture capital firm Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers. He is a Visiting Professor at Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.

Kevin Wall

Kevin Wall is an Emmy Award-winning producer, activist and new media entrepreneur.

As founder and CEO of Control Room, which produces and distributes live music concerts across Internet, radio, television, and mobile phones, platforms, Wall pioneered the platform-agnostic digital media model making entertainment content available on all mediums and devices. Control Room has delivered more than 100 shows since 2005, featuring international superstars such as Madonna, Jay-Z, Rihanna, and more, across a variety of networks and platforms around the world. Wall expanded Control Room’s producer credits to include specialized iconic events – 2009 Green Inaugural Ball hosted by former U.S. Vice President Al Gore, Live Earth 2007: Concerts for a Climate in Crisis, and Live Earth 2008: India – featuring multi-artist performances, integrated messaging, and massive global media architecture. He has added brand integration to Control Room’s arsenal of entertainment expertise through creation of events such as Nokia New Year’s Eve and Macy’s Passport which associates and integrates well-known brands with music events and artists that better reach their consumers.

In 2007, Kevin Wall founded his passion project – Live Earth. Inspired by the former U.S. Vice President, Al Gore, and his Oscar-winning documentary An Inconvenient Truth, Wall conceived and executed a groundbreaking musical event that sought to deliver an urgent yet hopeful call to action on climate change. The 2007 Live Earth concerts were held on seven continents, over the course of 24-hours, featuring over 150 headlining artists, and through his signature massive media architecture reached nearly two billion people on the planet with a message for change. Wall has grown Live Earth into a dynamic organization dedicated to the creation of engaging entertainment events and media content aimed at raising awareness for the challenges and solutions associated with climate change. Leveraging a robust network of corporate, non-governmental, entertainment and political influencers and organizations around the world, Live Earth is a key player in the fight against climate change. Since 2007, the organization produced Live Earth India, a multi-artist music concert supporting sustainable development in India which was cancelled as a result of the Mumbai terrorist attacks, and the 2009 Inaugural Green Ball hosted by former U.S. Vice President Al Gore celebrating the new green economy. In 2010, Live Earth will deliver another global event focused on water, the number-one resource most affected by climate change.

Wall has enjoyed more than three decades in developing and producing live, multi-artist music shows, most notably Live 8, a massive live event which earned Wall an Emmy Award as it motivated millions of viewers worldwide to pressure Western governments to take action on African aid and debt relief. Wall’s long music career also includes Bob Dylan’s “30th Anniversary Concert Celebration” featuring Eric Clapton and George Harrison at Madison Square Garden, Michael Jackson’s “The Dangerous Tour” live in Bucharest, “Amnesty International: Human Rights Now,” “3 Tenors Live in Concert,” and specials for Prince, Eric Clapton and Elton John. Early in his career, Wall established the first portable staging company to accommodate the staging, lighting and outdoor production needs of large stadium and arena concert tours by The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin and The Who, among other artists.

In other business sectors, as vice chairman of iXL, a global Internet consulting firm, Wall led the strategic acquisition and organization of 42 Internet design and consulting companies to build a venture with 3,000 employees, 38 offices and annual revenues of over $400 million. A co-founder of Shelter Capital Partners, a $175 million venture capital fund, Wall is currently invested in a dozen companies in the semiconductor, software and convergence sectors. Wall founded Sustainable Holdings, a firm that has developed a sustainable investment solution, in partnership with Dimentional Fund Advisors to provide cutting-edge corporate sustainability data. He recently partnered with Harvey Goldsmith, world renowned concert promoter and producer, to form Ignite – a full service experiential marketing agency – based in London.

Kevin Wall is a member of the board of directors for the Alliance for Climate Protection, Global Water Challenge, Gridpoint and Blurb, as well as the Westwood Hammer Museum.

He is the proud recipient of a variety of entertainment and philanthropy awards, including MIDEM Green Award, Billboard Touring Conference Humanitarian Award, Ad Age Marketer of the Year, GQ Environmental Pillar Award, Environmental Media Association Outstanding Achievement Award, and the Ellis Island Medal of Honor.

Wall is married to Susan Smalley, PhD., a geneticist on the faculty of UCLA in the Department of Psychiatry and Biobehavioral Sciences, who has done pioneering work in the genetics of Attention Deficit Disorder. She founded the Mindful Awareness Research Center (MARC) at UCLA’s Semel Institute for Neuroscience.

Catherine Geanuracos

Catherine Geanuracos oversees multiple components of Live Earth as its general manager, including program development, interactive strategy, public relations, sponsorship procurement and management and nonprofit and promotional partnerships.

Geanuracos joined the Live Earth team in April 2007, and spearheaded global online and SMS programs for the 7.07.07 Live Earth concerts as interactive director. She managed a four-country SMS campaign and the “Friends of Live Earth” program, which supported more than 10,000 local events, inspired by Live Earth, in 132 countries.

Geanuracos developed leadership in social advocacy while completing her B.A. at Columbia College, Columbia University. After receiving her Master’s Degree in social welfare from UC Berkeley, she worked in a variety of cause-related positions, including being part of the senior management team at Larkin Street Youth Services and as a co-investigator for an NIH-funded study at the University of California, San Francisco. As a mayoral appointee, she served as co-chair of the San Francisco HIV Health Services Planning Council, allocating $30 million in annual HIV funding for the city of San Francisco.

From 2004-2006, Geanuracos served as a consultant for MoveOn.org Political Action, helping to shape innovative programs that used technology to fundamentally expanded opportunities for political engagement. Geanuracos was involved in several other interactive advocacy projects before joining Live Earth, such as MomsRising.org, LeaveMyChildAlone.org, and Calder Strategies. She continues to enjoy utilizing her background to support awareness, advocacy, innovation and fundraising for Live Earth’s environmental campaigns.
