Bamboo appears to be an invasive plant here in Maryland. It enjoys the moist river banks. It spreads easily and is choking out our beautiful native species.
As a building product it is beautiful, durable, and natural. But is this bamboo grown in Asia and imported, using foreign resources and lots of energy to transport, or is it grown here in the US and becoming an invasive plant?
