Roll out your wheelbarrows and lace up your sneakers -- January 19th is a National Day of Service in the U.S. Please join President-elect Obama and the rest our nation as we lend a helping hand towards, “creating the change we wish to see.” There are more than 8,500 community service events registered nationwide.
Martin Luther King Jr. believed in the power of service and strength of a community, so registering a project in your neighborhood would be a great way to honor Dr. King's dream and contribute to community service. Let's rise to action on this national holiday and “Renew America Together.”

- Host a green Inauguration party with all sustainable materials
- Grab your friends and pick up trash in your neighborhood, campus or community
- Plant a tree...anywhere!
- Volunteer to pick up and separate recyclables
And don’t forget to share with us what you did! Visit our social network after your day of service and post pictures and stories of your event.
