America's Bottled Water Problem
"Americans' bottled water habit costs $100 billion a year and uses 17 million barrels of oil in production alone," according to the Pacific Institute.
Why not just use tap water? Purchasing filters, like PUR and Brita, help to remove chlorine and lead domestically from the faucet or from a portable unit. Also, water filters can improve the taste, color or odor of drinking water that comes right out of your tap.
"Our growing reliance on bottled water, in addition to creating plastic waste and a huge carbon footprint, also creates less incentive for the government to provide people with clean municipal water," so lets not purchase bottled water anymore and use water filtration systems like new Zero Water, which lets you "see your tap water go down to zero total dissolved solids after it passes through the filter."
