Climate Hearing Al GoreFormer Vice President Al Gore testified before key members of Congress on the new clean energy and climate legislation and the urgent need for the U.S. to invest in creating millions of green jobs to strengthen the economy. After Rep. Joe Barton (R-TX) mocked global warming as being responsible for the Dallas Cowboys and New England Patriots' poor season, Gore calmly said that he and other climate change deniers have just simply been receiving bad and misleading information (watch the clip below).

He received thousands of suggestions and finally made his difficult decision this morning.

It’s going to be intense.”

Speaking at a wind tower production facility in Newton, Iowa, Obama made it clear that his new green initiatives are not only intended to address threats of climate change but could also create new green jobs.

He is taking strong stances on the need to make a change, saying “there is no question that we have to regulate carbon pollution in some way; the only question is how we do it. I believe the best way to do it is through legislation that places a market-based cap on these kinds of emissions.”

Over 100,000 people have died due to the most recent "megadrought" in the 1960's. This tragedy has brought attention to the fact that the temperatures are continuously rising here.

trainHigh-speed trains in the U.S. are in the near future! As part of his green agenda, President Obama has announced plans for the high-speed rails to begin planning and construction soon.

The plans include 10 intercity hubs that will serve to connect the lines, including California, the Pacific Northwest, the Midwest, the Southeast, the Gulf Coast, Pennsylvania, Florida, New York and New England.
