Working for Renewable Energy in the Philippines
We are busy campaigning here for the use of renewable energy - we have potentials for geothermal, solar, wind, biomass, and hydro for source of eelctricity.
We are pushing these instead of the government-plan to install coal fired power plants in our province.
We also give lectures before students, professionals, and community groups on global warming - causes, impacts, and mitigation measures. We also encourage organic farming. Here at home, e have our small compost bin and we use vermicompost from our kitchen and garden wastes for fertilizing our garden.
We have a University Educational TV Channel. I am producing "Ecoforum," a weekly one hour and a half LIVE talk show with focus on environmental issues.
