Earth Day 2009

Earth Day

Earth Day is next Wednesday April 22nd! Get involved in your community! Here are some ways you can get involved:

  • Volunteer and participate in events in your city! Join Planet Green, Earth Day Network, non-profit organizations and city parks across the U.S. April 17-19 and make this Earth Day a time of meaningful change.
  • Send an Earth Day E-Card, find other Earth Day events and check out the Earth Day Take-Home Kit. Learn about the history of Earth Day and how you can go green at Planet Green.
  • GenGreenLife has launched a Facebook application called Every Day is Earth Day. Every day leading up to April 22nd, the app will suggest a way that you can decrease your environmental impact. The goal is to offset at least 100,000 lbs of CO2 which equals an estimated 20,000 Facebook users! Grab the application here.
  • TV stations all across the airwaves are dedicating hours of programming to celebrate Earth Day.

Be part of the solution!

The carbon footprint quiz

The carbon footprint quiz indicates
that being vegan is best.
Actually being fruitarian is best,
since it has the highest acreage yield,
least violence to plants and to
animal habitat, helps reforest the
world, has the least energy in production.
