We are proud to highlight the wonderful Run for Water events being planned around the world for April 18, 2010.

The Friends of Live Earth: Run for Water Race in Lisbon, Portugal will be a high-level event, helping the Portuguese community to acknowledge the importance of the global water crisis and the steps they can take to help solve it.

The 6K run and walk will start just steps away from the “Torre de Belém” waterfront, taking the athletes on a journey along the Tagus river. It will inspire people in the area to come together. Running or walking 6km makes the realities of water scarcity real to participants in the developed world.

Like every Live Earth event, this race will also go the extra mile to make sure it is produced with eco-friendly efforts. All participants will receive a organic cotton t-shirt, a recycle badge and a diploma of participation
