As the environmental movement continues to grow, social awareness is gaining momentum â€" spurring policy makers, corporations and consumers to take action in an effort to combat the climate crisis. This week, as the United Nations prepares for its global summit focusing on “Addressing the Leadership Challenge of Climate Change” and President Bush hosts the “Major Economies Meeting on Energy Security and Climate Change,” Americans will again be reminded of the simple steps they can take to become part of the solution to a much larger problem. On Friday, September 28th, Live Earth â€" the global music event aimed at combating the climate crisis â€" will revitalize the movement of awareness about global warming that it began on July 7, 2007. As a result of Live Earth, millions of commitments were received from individuals pledging to make changes in their daily lives. Since the show, those individual commitments collectively have grown on an international level that has continued to build and thus, inspire an even greater audience to take action. “Live Earth â€" The Concert Special” will again raise awareness of green issues and educate consumers on ways they can reduce their daily impact on the earth with a few simple solutions outlined in our piece.
