The Dow Live Earth Run for Water on April 18, 2010 is a series of 6km run/walks (the average distance women and children walk everyday to secure water) taking place over the course of 24 hours in 150 countries, featuring concerts and water education activities to ignite a massive global movement to help solve the water crisis.
The run/walk takes place Just steps away from Chicago's Lake Michigan waterfront taking athletes along the lakefront path. Athletes will celebrate their achievements at the Water Village and Post Race Party at Montrose Harbor with a live performance featuring Collective Soul and special guest Sam Moore. Join the Pringle Nature Center as we join many other cities around the world as we raise awareness of water. Women and children in third world countries have to go 6 kilometers in order to get fresh, clean water. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Live Earth and all other proceeds will denefit the nature education programs at the Pringle Nature Center.
