friend of live earth india event in delhiOn Friday November 21st, the Art of Living Foundation organized a concert in Delhi featuring more than 1,000 sitar players performing simultaneously. If that wasn't spectacle enough, there was a sea of 200,000 people who attended the concert.

Gaurav Gupta, deputy director of The Climate Project India, provided this exciting report on the first Friends of Live Earth event in India.

Gaurav Gupta with His Holiness Sri Sri Ravi Shankar at BrahmaNaad

At The Climate Project India, we are used to presenting in front of crowds of up to 1,000, but 200,000 is really a whole new ball game. It's fair to say that my nerves were frayed when I stepped up to the podium to deliver an address and thank you on behalf of Live Earth.

Art of Living focuses on spiritual awareness and betterment and has been a strong proponent of sustainable living. As an example, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar Ji, founder and spiritual guide of the movement has already motivated his followers to plant some 9 million trees already and has a commitment to plant 50 million more.

Spirituality is clearly a force to be reckoned with in India.
