Earth Day is Tuesday April 22nd, and many Earth Day events are happening this weekend! Not sure yet how you'll be celebrating Earth Day? Find an event near you on the Earth Day website.
Celebs from Chevy Chase to ?uestlove have called for the climate - have you? Let our leaders know if they want to keep their jobs, they have to do something substantive to solve climate change.
What should you ask them to do? Take these ideas from the Live Earth Pledge:
- Demand that our country join an international treaty within the next 2 years that cuts global warming pollution by 90% in developed countries and by more than half worldwide in time for the next generation to inherit a healthy earth;
- Ask them to fight for a moratorium on the construction of any new generating facility that burns coal without the capacity to safely trap and store the CO2;
- Tell them to Work for a dramatic increase in the energy efficiency of homes, workplaces, schools, places of worship, and means of transportation;
- Encourage them to pass laws and policies that expand the use of renewable energy sources and reduce dependence on oil and coal;

how do we stop all the
how do we stop all the airplanes from throwing away all those plastics cups, newspapers, and cardboard boxes that hold those not-good-for-the-earth snacks? some airlines say they try to recycle but i highly doubt it. if you think about every flight they throw out so much trash which is almost all recyclable!
We, as members of the third
We, as members of the third grade class in Room 32,pledge to stop littering and pick up others' litter, recycle plastic bottles, cans, and paper and buy recycled products, turn off the lights, plant new trees and plants, walk and bike instead of using cars, use CFLs,and buy organic foods that support the rainforests.

On EARTH DAY... take a moment and enjoy a long, deep breath. Global warming is taking the very breath of oxygen away. Reduce CO2. Unplug all not essential electrical appliances at home/work. Sleep with your head 4 ft from the wall & love life! Blessings, Dr. "A"

What can I do to get my school to stop using styrofoam trays, begin a better paper recycling program, and also start a plastic bottle recycling program?
