Black Eyed Peas Gets Behind Climate Policy Reform on Energy Never Dies Tour
Six-time Grammy Award-winning The Black Eyed Peas is committed to clean energy and promoting comprehensive climate legislation reform on its current tour. The Peas, who performed at Live Earth 07.07.07 in London, announced a partnership with three of our favorite green organizations: Green for All, Rethink, and the League of Conservation Voters.
"From creating new sustainable products out of recycled bottles to capping harmful global warming pollution, the actions and policies that protect the planet for future generations are the same as those that create new jobs and economic opportunities. The Peas are proud to be getting the word out about these important efforts, and we hope everyone coming to the shows and visiting our website will get involved and take action." -- will.i.am
Green For All volunteers will encourage fans at each tour venue to recycle their plastic bottles, which will eventually be converted into fabric to produce The Black Eyed Peas merchandise including t-shirts.
"The League of Conservation Voters is excited about the opportunity to partner with The Black Eyed Peas to build support for action that creates millions of new clean-energy jobs and protects the planet from global warming pollution," said LCV President Gene Karpinski. "It's time for our senators to work together to swiftly pass comprehensive clean energy and climate legislation -- so to quote The Black Eyed Peas, our message to the U.S. Senate is simple: 'Let's get it started.'"
The Black Eyes Peas The E.N.D. tour visits Madison Square Garden tonight and continues worldwide through summer 2010.
