The facility is planned to be huge! Built on city land about 20 miles outside of downtown Austin, it will contain about 320 acres of the powerful, sun-soaking photovoltaic panels. To put that into perspective – that will generate enough power for about 5,000 homes. The solar plant is scheduled to be operating by December 2010.

This will also vastly stimulate the local green economy and create hundreds of jobs!
