Al Gore and UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon discussed climate change at this week's World Business Summit on Climate Change in Copenhagen (watch the summit live).
"We have to do it this year. Not next year - this year," said Gore. "The clock is ticking, because Mother Nature does not do bailouts."
More than 500 business leaders are attending the meetings, including chief executives from Shell, BP, Intel, Pepsico, Nestlé, Ericsson and China Mobile. The theme and setting was appropriate in advance of the December U.N. climate change conference meant to forge a new climate treaty to replace the Kyoto Protocol.
"For those who are directly or implicitly lobbying against climate action I have a clear message: your ideas are out of date and you are running out of time," said Ban Ki-moon in his opening statements on Sunday.
