To mark the first week of the U.S. Senate's summer recess, community leaders and activists from 1Sky and other allied groups held over 65 "Beach Parties" in 28 states across America.

Volunteers gathered in front of Senate offices urging a comprehensive clean energy jobs bill when the Senate returns this fall.

1Sky used "beach parties" as a symbolic action to remind senators of the challenges that global warming presents and to use the opportunities to steer America towards an economy driven by clean and green energy jobs.

The director of 1Sky wants to do everything possible so that senators will not listen to the evil forces of big oil and dirty coal – who continue to demand that Congress sacrifice our economy and our potentially wonderful green future in favor of money and profit.

Congress needs to do right by the American people by saying yes to clean, renewable sources of energy that never run dry, like wind, solar and geothermal!
