Live Earth Announces 2010 Global Event!
Live Earth is pleased to announce the largest worldwide water initiative in history to help combat the global water crisis.

Former UN secretary-general Kofi Annan and Archbishop Desmond Tutu joined dozens of musicians on a cover of Midnight Oil's 1987 hit "Beds Are Burning" to draw attention to the urgency of the UN Climate Change Conference this December in Copenhagen.
The remix, complete with new lyrics, was driven by one of the co-founders of the TckTckTck campaign and the Global Humanitarian Forum and wasposted today at tcktcktck.org/beds.

"The National Park: America's Best Idea" is the next great installment from the genius of documentary-maker Ken Burns. The six-episode series will air on PBS and PBS.org. It was directed by Burns and written and co-produced by Dayton Duncan.

U.S. Senators John Kerry (D-MA) and Barbara Boxer (D-CA) introduced the Clean Energy Jobs and American Power Act on Capitol Hill today.
The legislation, which aims to cut carbon pollution and stimulate the economy by creating millions of jobs in the clean energy sector, is the Senate's version of the American Clean Energy and Security Act passed by the House of Representatives in June.
The Boxer-Kerry "Clean Energy Jobs and American Power Act," is 821 pages, starting with a mandate by 2020 to curb the nation's greenhouse gas emissions by 20 percent from 2005 levels. Many of the details will be left to negotiations with Democrats and Republican moderates on the senate floor.

It's Autumn in Washington, D.C. and following a UN Climate Summit, the G20, and Climate Week, key U.S. energy legislation could be introduced in the Senate as early as Wednesday of this week.
Sens. John Kerry (D-MA) and Barbara Boxer (D-CA) plan to introduce a version of the energy and climate change bill into the Senate that will look very similar to the legislation passed by the House of Representatives in June.
