LIVE EARTH NET PROCEEDS GO TO BENEFIT THE ALLIANCE FOR CLIMATE PROTECTION October 16, 2007 (Burbank, CA) -- On July 7, 2007, 150 musical acts performed at a series of worldwide concerts called Live Earth to raise awareness for the climate crisis and deliver a solutions-based message to a global audience. On December 4th, Warner Bros. Records will release LIVE EARTH - THE CONCERTS FOR A CLIMATE IN CRISIS -- a CD and 2-DVD package that brings together the most popular artists, best performances, and the solutions-based messaging showcased at this truly global musical event staged in New York, London, Sydney, Tokyo, Shanghai, Rio de Janeiro, Johannesburg and Hamburg, with special events broadcast from Antarctica, Kyoto, and Washington, DC. The CD/2-DVD package includes performances from such artists as Linkin Park, Metallica, Smashing Pumpkins, Black-Eyed Peas, Kelly Clarkson, Dave Matthews Band, Foo Fighters, John Mayer, Keith Urban, Beastie Boys, Bon Jovi, Rihanna and many more. The first single from LIVE EARTH - THE CONCERTS FOR A CLIMATE IN CRISIS will be "Bleed It Out," performed by Linkin Park at Maduhari Messe in Japan. The digital bundle of tracks will be available on iTunes, Zune and from other digital retailers on November 13th. In addition to the live performances, the LIVE EARTH DVD will also include six short films from the Live Earth Film Series and a documentary on the making of Live Earth shot by Award-winning filmmakers Nick Wickham and Emer Patten. The short films, some of which premiered at the 2007 Tribeca Film Festival, were commissioned by Live Earth to utilize the power of film to educate a global audience through entertainment. "This CD/DVD package gives audiences another opportunity to experience the excitement of the largest entertainment event in history, while re-engaging with the issue of the climate crisis," said Kevin Wall, Live Earth Founder & Chairman. "We believe music has the power to influence and this package is a chance to expose more people to the Live Earth concerts and message." The digital album will become available globally for purchase via iTunes and all other participating digital retail outlets on November 13th. iTunes was the first to launch a pre-order campaign which began in earnest less than 24 hours after the actual July 7th event with an available for purchase instant download of John Mayer's compelling performance of "Waiting On The World To Change." Live Earth's net proceeds from the sale of LIVE EARTH - THE CONCERTS FOR A CLIMATE IN CRISIS will go to benefit the Alliance for Climate Protection, whose mission is to persuade the public about the importance and urgency of adopting and implementing effective and comprehensive solutions for the climate crisis. Live Earth was a 7-continent, 24-hour music event that broke records on July 7, 2007. Recognized as the largest global entertainment event ever held, Live Earth secured 500 media partners from TV, radio, Internet and live audiences to broadcast the live concerts over the course of 24 hours, generating media attention and discussion in every corner of the globe to engage an estimated audience of 2 billion people on the issue of the climate crisis. Live Earth was founded by Kevin Wall, an Executive Producer of Live 8, an event that brought together one of the largest audiences in history to combat poverty. Wall formed a partnership with former U.S. Vice President Al Gore and the Alliance for Climate Protection to ensure that Live Earth inspires behavioral changes long after July 7, 2007. I would really like to see if
I would really like to see if they could get a huge DVD of the entire show - it would be a lot, but I know there are a lot of people who would like to be able to see every show that went on. I believe the Live Aid and 8 concerts were able to get the whole shows on (don't hold me to it though, I'm not entirely sure.)
It would be pretty neat to see the whole thing.
I¨m very, VERY disappointed
I¨m very, VERY disappointed with such a short list of singers who will be on those cds and DVDs. Hope you consider another realsing of the whole concerts!!! I just want to have a chance to see it again as it really was and not just A POOR CHOICE!!!
Ohhh man you really made a
Ohhh man you really made a huge mistake by no adding mr yusuf islam on the cd or dvd, i asked the dvd as has a christmas gift but now that i know it dont includes yusuf islam im just not really interested, come on, the man is legend! one of the greatest
I attended the Live Earth
I attended the Live Earth concert which was a great event. I am disappointed that there are only 2 DVD's coming out. Artists like The Police, Roger Waters, Dave Matthews Band and Bon Jovi should have had their entire performances put onto this set. Personally if they would release a DVD box set of the US concert only I'd be very happy. Naturally I will buy this set but somewhere in the future an additional DVD box set should be released.
I like the song choices, but
I like the song choices, but I was very surprised not to see "Message in a Bottle" with Kanye West and John Mayer. I thought that was the best song at the Live Earth New York concert.
I am very, very disappointed
I am very, very disappointed that you did not include Yusuf (Cat Stevens) on either the DVD or CD. He gave a remarkable performance and closed the show in Germany and you chose not to include any of the songs he performed! Actually, it was a historical performance since it was his first huge concert performance in at least 28 years. I have heard and read so many comments that his was one of the best performances at the Live Earth concerts. I just cannot believe you would leave him out. What a huge mistake!
I will not be buying this CD or DVD.
Nice looking forward to the
Nice looking forward to the DVD but where is the London cast like the Pussycat Dolls...???
Why are the Red Hot Chili
Why are the Red Hot Chili Peppers not included in the DVD or CD? That's just wrong!
I was at the London gig -
I was at the London gig - superb! This DVD/CD release - a very poor effort. Surely a 4 disc DVD set with everything would be more appropriate...the current offering seems very half-hearted. I'll stick with my complete recording off the tv thanks!
I agree that the complete
I agree that the complete concert, in each country, should be available...I currently have my favorite moments saved on DVR, but could lose them at any time. It would be nice to know that it may be available on DVD to view with family & friends forever!
Thanks for taking comments into consideration.
Where is Spinal Tap??? One
Where is Spinal Tap??? One of the most entertaining performances of the day!!!!
No Shakira!! wow what a miss
No Shakira!! wow what a miss step this will be.
Pity the DVDs will not
Pity the DVDs will not contain more of some fantastic perfomances I saw live on TV that summer night. But I understand that bigger DVD pack would cost more and it would be then very difficult to sell it, especially on such competitive market as pre-Christmas market definitely is. I hope that all mini films shown in between (how and why recycle plastic bags etc.) will be there and also hope that all those of you who enjoy/support Live Earth recycle your waste or at least throw bottles, paper or any other recyclebale stuff into the right place (I mean not to your trash can under the table). Cheers
i wonder how many barrels of
i wonder how many barrels of oil,and how many tons of co2 will be spewed into the atmosphere,in order to produce millions of cds and the packaging, and the transportation of said products from the manufacturing facility to retail outlets all over the planet??? This has nothing to do with saving the planet, merely another"economic opportunity"to make money!!! Thats all this planet is about...money,profiteering from one and other at the expense of mother nature...you people really make me sick, and i think you are all a bunch of hypocrites, that are merely out to profit over the planets dwindling ecosystem,so as to line your corporate coffers, with fat bank accounts, undoubtedly living lavish lifestyles, that benefit no one but yourselves,at the expense of the planets dwindling resources! You really ought to be ashamed of yourselves!
It is evident nobody is
It is evident nobody is really happy with the song choices. It will sell great with all or at least more performances. I truly want to see this thing succeed but I can't support it if it doesn't have anything on it that appeals to me. Please take this into consideration. Do it for the environment if for no other reason.
Thanks.

Wow which executive was
Wow which executive was sleeping under a rock and made the artist choices?
I was at Giants Stadium that day and the event was amazing but this package being released on Nov.20th has a lot to be desired! I attended Live Aid back on
July 13th, 1985 and the package they came out with was much more complete. I hope you take these comments seriously
and come out with a Volume II package.
Yeah, I'm switching to fios
Yeah, I'm switching to fios and tonight kissing goodbye my cable dvr performances from the stellar artists from around the world, I had most of the concert on there. Pity that the cd/dvd set is so dismal. I guess it is an environmentally sound setup. If they have too many varieties of performances think of all the discs that would have to be made, put on trucks and sold. Here's to going green! I agree, Pussycat Dolls, Sarah Brightman, the whole Madonna set, the whole Waters set, the historic reunion of SPINAL TAP!! Yeah, I think they need to either put out sets, volumes, the complete set or something. Keep it chronological and keep artists together.
I cant believe that its only
I cant believe that its only 2 dvds , alot of performances, singers, and bands are left out and only 1 song from the artists that are included. A shame!
what happened to john butler
what happened to john butler trio, jack johnson, crowded house, paul kelly and the rest of the awesome aussie line up. its very dissapointing that they are not comming to dvd.
please bring out another box set in the future. with all performances e.g. the live aid, live 8 and wave aid dvds.
Very disapppointed!! They
Very disapppointed!! They should have followed the LIve8 idea of realsing a box set of like 6-8 dvds, with each dvd for the seperate venues. People want to see and remember the concer they saw, not necessarily the overseas versions.!!
Great that they are bringing
Great that they are bringing out a DVD but considering the sheer number of artists and the fact that the Live 8 DVD collection was at least 4 DVDs which is double what this is I am disappointed there is not more DVDs.
Please have at least 3 DVDs by the time this is released with the best performances such as Foo Fighters, Bon Jovi, Metallica, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Bon Jovi and so forth with at least 2 performances each which should be minimum so get this fixed AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!!!
I wanted to buy the music,
I wanted to buy the music, but after reading the posted comments, I am disappointed that it does not include everyone. I will consider getting it if I knew where to buy it. Thanks for listening.
Happy that Gimme Shelter
Happy that Gimme Shelter (Keys and Urban) and Going My Way (Kravitz) are on the DVD.
Disappointed that Hips Don't Lie (Shakira), Shut up and Drive (Rhianna), and Don't ya (PCD) not included. Also disappointed that not being released in HD-DVD. I would buy a box set of all of the acts if it was available. Especially in high-def. Come on Warner Brothers, listen to your consumers !!!!!
I attended the London gig,
I attended the London gig, which I found a fantastic day and really want to relive this experience over and over!! My cousin came with me and would be a great present to give him for christmas. Please, Please release the FULL london gig on DVD!!!
The listing you have on here on the DVD that is being released does NOT satisfy me paying the £20 or so that will be charged just to watch performers I didn't see on the day. I am VERY disappointed and hope this will be taken into consideration and be rectified!! How can you miss out the Red Hot Chilli Peppers???
THIS DVD/CD's are so short,
THIS DVD/CD's are so short, where is Fall Out Boy?
Wow, how disappoiting, I
Wow, how disappoiting, I definitely will not be purchasing this CD. I thought David Gray and Damien Rice's completely collaboration of Blowers Daughter, Babylon and Que Sera were spectacular, and they're only putting up one song? Pfft...
I wish it featured
I wish it featured everything. I'd have paid loads for it as it was one of the best days of my life. (Being 16 i'm not being strange, as I have neither a marriage or children).
I HAVE HEARD AND RECORDED
I HAVE HEARD AND RECORDED MOST OF MY FAVORITE SECTIONS OF THE CONCERT LIVE EARTH ON 7.07.07 AND HAVE LOVED MOST OF IT ,PLAYING IT BACK SEVERAL TIMES ON MAXELL 120 MIN.TAPE.
LOOKING FORWARD TO HEARING A MORE COMPLETE COMPILATION RELEASE SON BY THE POWERS THAT BE!
Why leave all the best out
Why leave all the best out and just one song of each. seriously put everything on their just different country dvds and maybe a boxset of all.that will sell
Where's Terra Naomi and "Say
Where's Terra Naomi and "Say It's Possible" ?
Terra song caused a YouTube sensation when she posted "Say It's Possible" that she had written after watching Al Gore's movie An Inconvenient Truth. She went on to win YouTube's first annual YouTube music award.
Bummer.
I am 48 years old and I have
I am 48 years old and I have been all over the world to see live concerts and I was touched in some way, I stayed home this time and watched the whole concert, If there was only one thing I could say, LIVE EARTH changed my life and my families way of living, Thank You for opening our eyes, Palo Nutini was my high light.
Why no message in a bottle?
Why no message in a bottle? That was the best performance!
It is indeed a shame that so
It is indeed a shame that so much is missing here. I personally think that the CD included is completely pointless, and an additional DVD or two would've been the better alternative. I really hope that a complete boxset will follow. And since it was filmed in HD, maybe a bluray disc version would make sense?
What a dissppointed just one
What a dissppointed just one madonna song out of the tree songs that she played.
this should have been
this should have been released w/ one disc for each continent, available individually and in box set. There were to many fantastic performances cut to turn this into a 2 disc set.
Madonna the best. Near to
Madonna the best.
Near to nothing the rest.
Dear all, Could someone help,
Dear all,
Could someone help, by supplying me with the following information please:
I am looking for a soundtrack from the adverts for the LIve Earth concerts that were heard on the radio, and seen on the cinema
(at least in Portugal they were):
— A voice of a child singing "He's got the whole world in his hand", backed up by a beautiful, sort of Gospel Choir/Orchestra.
Any idea where this soundtrack came from? I know there are hundreds of older versions of this song, but I would like to buy this particular version that promoted the Live Earth concerts.
Much appreciated. Many thanks for the information.
two words : Australia
two words : Australia Version
two more very important words :
Missy Higgins
Even more words : John Butler, Paul Kelly, Sneaky Sound System, and the list goes oseriously, not all of us americans are madonna and kanye lovers.
where's the good quality aussie music?? that's the real issue here.
The Aussie show put the rest
The Aussie show put the rest to shame! As a resident of South florida I heard some real fine music from down under that night
