A group of my grades 4-6 students are creating an Earthcare Tic-tac-toe game to share schoolwide starting on Earth Day. They'll encourage peers to complete a tic-tac-toe line selecting & noting habits they're starting to change. These "pledges" will be submitted on recycled paper with parent signature. My students leading this project will draw "winners" from names of students who submit a parent-signed "toe a line" pledge then give "green" gifts to the winners: reusable bags with "Save the Polar Bears" slogans on them, ecoist.com bracelets made of candy wrappers that get a tree planted upon purchase, etc. Students at my other school are meeting with Parent-Teacher organization reps to make plans for a certified Monarch Waystation on school grounds.
