Läkarmissionen logo

Läkarmissionen is one of our NGO partners in Sweden and is helping us to fight the global water crisis. Their operation began in 1958 to support a Swedish church related mission hospital in South Africa. That is what gave them the name Läkarmissionen - the Swedish Medical Mission Foundation.

Läkarmissionen’s intention is to make it possible for marginalized people to gain improved quality of life. Our experiences indicate that circumstances can be changed, and that sustainable results can be achieved, as we include the people in need in the process of change.

You might win a trip for you and a friend to the Dow Live Earth Run for Water and concert event on April 18th in Los Angeles or NYC!

Their main focus is on meeting young people where they are, by linking cultural expression with social and political experience.

The invisible face of the homeless comes from many places, job losses and economic hardship to mental issues and alcohol/drug addiction. But there's a new cause rising, that of climate change.

According to the International Organization for Migration, 20 million people were made homeless last year as a result of sudden-onset environmental disasters. From more frequent and stronger hurricanes to rising sea levels, even the most secure people are threatened. In the next 40 years, this number could rise to a total of one billion people.

this is our moment

On the heels of U.S. President Obama's State of the Union address, the NRDC Action Fund has launched This is Our Moment -- a web video campaign that is urging Congress to pass the first-ever climate and clean energy bill that will break our dependency to foreign oil, reduce carbon pollution, and create thousands of green jobs.

The video campaign features celebrities like Leonardo DiCaprio, Jason Bateman, Chace Crawford, Felicity Huffman, Justin Long, Edward Norton, Emmy Rossum, Forest Whitaker and more.
