The world is gearing up for the highly anticipated Copenhagen Climate Summit from December 7th-18th, which will be the most important meeting on climate change in history. The best and brightest minds will be together to battle out the fight against climate change and the changes desperately needed to be made. With carbon emissions about to peak, we have no time to waste if we want to keep global temperature rise below 2°C and preserve a world's climate roughly similar to that of today.

President Barack Obama on Tuesday announced $3.4 billion in grants to help build a "smart" electric grid.
"At this moment, there's something big happening in America, when it comes to creating a clean-energy economy," President Obama said. “But getting there will take a few more days like this one, and more projects like this one."

Dow has just unveiled a new solar panel - a solar shingle. The Solar Shingle was designed by Dow Solar Solutions to be integrated into residential rooftops with the standard asphalt shingle materials. The shingle systems are expected to be available in limited quantities by mid-2010 and more widely available in 2011.
These innovative rooftop shingles will convert sunlight into electricity for residents much easier, and cheaper than previous solar panels. The shingles have a thin film on them, which cuts out the cost of installation dramatically because it can be installed by a roofer who is already building or fixing a roof. So not only are these cheaper than typical solar panels, you'll also save time and installation costs. And they're nearly invisible!

We love green roofs! The idea, but more importantly the execution, of this environmentally beautifying technique is a wonderful way to reduce your carbon footprint.

Iowa! Wind power actually provided 5% of the state's electricity in 2006.
And 3 years later, the Hawkeye State continues to up the ante, Iowa produces between 15% and 17% of its own electricity from wind power.
The state has provided really good incentives to make this happen. Iowa's biggest utility company, MidAmerica Energy, pays farmers $3,500 a year to rent locations for wind turbines.
