One of the most famous faces in the world is now the face of global environmental action.

Brazilian model Gisele Bündchen has been appointed a Goodwill Ambassador for the UN Environment Programme (UNEP). She recently advocated for the protection of the Amazon rainforest and earlier this year attended a Rainforest Alliance Gala.

"I just feel like this is something that I'm so passionate about. You know, I grew up in a small town in the south of Brazil, and I'm like immersed in nature. So I feel extremely passionate about this. I am so honored of being part of such a wonderful organization as the UN is, and I just feel very excited and happy that it's like I want to just like put up my sleeves and go in to work!"

She says "now, it's about action on a global scale to secure a healthy future for the next generation, wherever they live in the world."
