The Sierra Club is now accepting applications for the Green Energy and Green Livelihoods Award! The chosen grassroots non-governmental organization will get a $100,000 and recognition as an outstanding environmental success in India. [more]The Ginger Ninjas A remarkably sustainable band, the Ginger Ninjas, toured 5,000 miles from North California to South Mexico, by bicycle, carrying all instruments and equipment on their bikes, including a 1000w bicycle-powered sound system, sans automobile support. Now they are planning a world tour in the same fashion, starting late august on the East Coast. The band believes that the idea, “bigger, faster, more” has run its course, leaving a mountain of environmental and social woes and a void of meaning. Into that void rides the Pleasant Revolution, a transformational way of working and living that restores environmental and cultural vitality and returns deep meaning to ordinary human experience.
