You do everything you can to make sure you and your child have a healthy home environment, but what about all day at school?

Summer break is an ideal time to approach school administrators about concerns regarding the healthiness of your child's learning environment, for example, what products are used to clean the school? Is there a greener way to do it?

In addition, children miss more than 14 million school days each year due to asthma which is exacerbated by poor indoor air quality. Green cleaning can help reduce the environmental hazards that negatively affect children's growing, developing bodies. Most schools still rely on an armload of toxins to do the job, with cost being the greatest roadblock to change. If that's the case at your child's school, make an effort this summer to convince them to make the switch. There are tons of inexpensive green cleaners available today that do a thorough job of cleaning without releasing chemicals into the environment.
