There are simple and effective ways to travel more sustainably to Live Earth. Why not put your best foot forward and walk or cycle? Or you could take public transport and catch a coach, train, the tube or a local bus. If you absolutely have to drive, be an eco-driver and use a fuel efficient car and travel with friends.

Live Earth Cities is a project we're undertaking with our partner ICLEI - Local Governments for Sustainability.
How can your city participate in Live Earth?
1. Pass a "Live Earth Day" resolution: download a sample resolution here, and let us know that it's been passed.
2. Host a "Friends of Live Earth" event in your city.
3. Implement some of the carbon reduction strategies and plans available at the "Live Earth Cities" page on the coolmayors.org site.
4. Click on the logo above to download and use on your municipal website to let the rest of the world know that your community is doing its part to combat the climate crisis.

Our Giants Green Team (Andrea, Amy, Nancy & Ginny) recently went on a green site visit at Giants Stadium in New York. We met with the operations people, the promoters, caterers, the waste management teams & haulers -- you name it. We reviewed all aspects of how to design out waste to make Live Earth the most sustainably-produced event that has ever occurred at Giants.

...I found out how things that you would never dream of recycling can be made into helpful little projects for other people. For example chewing gum! Recycled chewing gum can be made into a playing surface for children. This makes me think that the future of the world looks promising.

WWF International has commissioned an update of the G8 Climate Scorecards which were published at the G8 Summit in Gleneagles in 2005. WWF's Climate Scorecards give a comparable snapshot of climate policies in G8 countries, covering recent and expected emissions, and key response activities by G8 governments.
