That’s exactly what Live Earth is. On 7/7/07, Live Earth will touch over 2 billion people with 24 hours of live music across 7 continents and an urgent, hopeful message to trigger a worldwide movement to combat the climate crisis. This movement begins here at Aussie Stadium.”

Live Earth was founded by Kevin Wall, who served as Worldwide Executive Producer of the Live 8 concert series in 2005. Representing Wall at the Sydney launch today was Lily Sobhani, Live Earth’s Global Head of Events.

â€Å"Live Earth Australia will kick off 24 hours of music spanning all 7 continents to focus the world against global warming,” Wall said. â€Å"Over 100 headlining artists ranging from Madonna to The Police to Wolfmother, all of whom are donating their time to perform at the concerts, will inspire an audience of over 2 billion people. Live Earth is designed to trigger a mass movement to combat our climate crisis. The climate crisis touches everyone, everywhere. Live Earth is about motivating people in every corner of the planet to ‘Answer the Call’ and make meaningful and lasting changes in their lives to combat global warming.”

Live Earth is a monumental music event that will bring together more than 2 billion people to combat the climate crisis. Live Earth’s 24 hours of music across 7 continents will deliver a call to action and the solutions needed to answer the call. Live Earth marks the beginning of a multi-year campaign led by The Alliance for Climate Protection to move individuals, corporations and governments to take action. All proceeds will go to The Alliance for Climate Protection, other international non-Government organizations (NGOs), Australian NGOs and projects on the ground in Australia yet to be announced.

Staging Live Earth Australia is the same team of event producers that came together to mount the celebrated WaveAid tsunami benefit concert in Sydney in 2005. They are the legendary Australian concert promoter Michael Chugg A.M. (Chugg Entertainment), Mark Pope (event producer of the ARIA Awards) and Joe Segreto of IMC (founder and promoter of Sydney’s annual Homebake festival).

Live Earth promoters have worked closely with Australian government officials to include the price of public transport in the ticket price for the event. This includes travel to and from the event on CityRail trains, special event buses to and from Central Station and Moore Park, and on standard Sydney Buses and Sydney Ferries' services. Including the cost of public transport in the ticket price will ensure that the environmental impact caused by getting the crowd to and from the show will be kept to a minimum. Organizers will encourage all concert attendees to use the public transport supplied.

Exclusive online media partner MSN is helping Live Earth reach people in every corner of the globe. The concerts will be streamed live on 7/7/07 at LiveEarth.MSN.com. MSN’s 39 localized web portals worldwide attract 465 million monthly users. The concerts will also be broadcast worldwide on television and radio.

smart has joined Live Earth as an Official Partner. Its claim â€Å"Open your mind” summarizes smart’s approach to building cars, and it’s this thinking that has resulted in arguably the most ecologically-sound and environmentally-relevant car of our time: the smart fortwo.

Live Earth is produced by Control Room, of which Kevin Wall is the CEO. Control Room has produced and distributed more than 60 concerts since its founding in 2005 featuring Beyoncé, Madonna, Green Day and the Rolling Stones, among others.

Why is it one can't purchase

Why is it one can't purchase selected songs by certain music groups???

Why is it that one can't

Why is it that one can't purchase songs from prefered music groups

Hello. I so enjoyed Live

Hello. I so enjoyed Live Earth 2007 last year, including the film shorts and commercials. For many months after the concerts I re-watched the entire thing on MSN. I especially grew fond of the Australia concert, the Nanatuk song from Antarctica, and Pink Floyd's reunion set.

It's been quite a few months since I did this. Just now I went to MSN to watch the Australia concert, Nanatuk, and Pink Floyd's set again but I quickly discovered they are no longer there, in fact none of Live Earth 2007 at all is there anymore. I saw there is a CD and two DVDs of Live Earth for sale, but I also saw that it is a very stripped down condensed account of the worldwide concerts. The full concerts are not included. That's a bummer.

I am interested in watching at least the ENTIRE Australia concert of Live Earth 2007, and also the Antarctic feed of Nanatuk's one song with the wild penguins shuffling in the cold background, and also Pink Floyd's entire set. I'd really like to be able to watch the whole thing in its entirety, but Australia & Antarctica & Pink Floyd will do.

How can I do this? The Australia feed was the best of the bunch as far as I am concerned. Great music. I'd really like to watch it in its entirety again and again, along with Antarctica and Pink Floyd too. Please tell me how I can do this. Surely it exists somewhere ...

Thank you.

Greg

I, as well as millions, I am

I, as well as millions, I am sure, was moved by the idea and effort of Live Earth. It has been a major reason that the green movement has become so strong. And I commend that.

However, I too, like others, miss the fact that I used to be able to watch the Aussie leg of the concert. It was my personal favorite, in it's entirity, and i find it to be the event that contained artists like Missy higgins and John Butler, among others, who are truly a part of the process of becoming aware of global warming.

I am just hoping that the entire Sydney-Based concert will be available for purchase/viewing, because it was truly a culmination of the most aware and best artists we've seen in a long time.

Thanks,
Lisa
