solar LAIf you live in the Los Angeles area, you know that air quality is an issue for the city. For decades, the City of Los Angeles, which is home to more than 4 million people – has been synonymous with the smog. In 2004, LA emitted over 50 million tons of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere – more than the entire country of Sweden.

Confronted with the constant problems associated with poor air quality and energy efficiency, Los Angeles mayor Antonio Villaraigosa proposed the “Solar LA” initiative.
