Influenced by her environmental heritage and a passionate interest in the history of mark-making, Nove’s paintings explore the interconnected relationships in nature and, conversely, the underlying disturbances. Through a process of layering and dripping paint, she explores a progression of immersion and disruption in this current series. The large panel paintings are created on sustainably harvested wood panels; canvases are on recycled aluminum stretchers.

Critic and curator Peter Frank said of her work: "Felicity Nove's lyrical, even liquid abstractions describe ambiguous but luminous spaces that conflate land and water, flora and fauna, earth and sky. They are kind to the eyes, but reward them as well with the substance of Nove's subtle imagination."
