Justin Timberlake Takes Action for the Global Water Crisis

During his recent interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Justin Timberlake announced his action for the global water crisis and plans to climb Africa's Mt. Kilimanjaro. With the mountains highest elevation estimated at 5,891.8 metres (19,330 ft), JT and rapper Lupe Fiasco will join singer Kenna on this expedition for awareness this Fall.
With similar climbs of Mt. Kilimanjaro resulting in up to 10 deaths a year, they are going through rigorous training, “I’ve been training four times a week to get my VO2 [oxygen consumption] levels up to expand my lungs,” Timberlake told GQ. “We’ll climb for a week straight, carrying 30 pounds on our backs. It’s going to be intense.”
The project was conceived by Kenna, who was born in Ethiopia. "My dad almost died as a child from waterborne diseases," he explained to Elle magazine. "I have too many friends who would be concerned with the subject of clean water. Maybe I can help out."
Although the climb is labeled is technically easy, high elevation and low temperatures are what makes this such a dangerous trek. Watch a clip of the announcement below:
