thinkcityThe large Scandinavian country of Norway is getting closer to a ban on gas-powered cars in the near future.

The terms of this groundbreaking proposal would go into effect in 2015, after which no Norwegian automaker could produce and sell a new vehicle in Norway without a list of provisions on biofuels, electricity or hydrogen. Hybrid vehicles that switch from electric and gasoline would still be allowed.

If this passes, it would be a landmark legislation and would hopefully persuade other countries to do the same.
