PepsiCo Inc., already a corporate leader in sustainability efforts, is taking further steps towards greening their manufacturing process.

The company opened a manufacturing plant in China that is specifically designed to be more environmentally friendly than plants in the past.

The new build is expected to use 22% less water and 23% less energy than others in the country.

With an expected savings of 100,000 tons of water and 3,100 tons of green house gas emissions annually, PepsiCo has truly stepped in as a role model to other major companies.

The new site has over 30 water saving features such as a high-pressured cleaning system and the use of recycled water for landscaping purposes.

PepsiCo is also working to develop innovative systems that will not only benefit the company but the environment as well.
