Manju Seal is a 2008 recipient of the prestigious American Marshall Fellowship award that selects roughly 50 individuals from across United States each year (www.gmfus.org). She has over eleven years of investment experience with an emphasis in structured finance, risk management and quantitative methods. She is a VP alumna from Goldman Sachs, New York. From 1997-2002, she worked both on the structured products desk at FICC and later managed the fixed income team in GSAM for Risk and Performance Group.

She moved to San Francisco and worked in leadership positions in the structured products arena from 2003-2007. At McMorgan Co. (a subsidiary of New York Life), she implemented securitized strategy worth $4 billion across all their institutional accounts. Her finance career started out as a structured finance analyst Arthur Andersen. From 1993-95, she was a systems analyst for the U.S. Cooperative Extension System for the National Center for Diversity at Kentucky State University-Frankfort.

She recently spearheaded the Friends of Live Earth Program in India for Ixoraa Media and Live Earth since fall 2008.  The program aimed in raising awareness regarding Climate Crisis (based on Al Gore’s Inconvenient Truth presentation) via school activities, screening of eco-friendly movies, conference, and eco-quiz.  Over 1.1 million kids in 5000 schools across India participated in these activities.  More details at http://liveearth.org/friends-of-live-earth-events/

Since 2003 she has been a SEED volunteer at Narika and joined the Board of Directors in early 2007.  She is currently the President of the Board.  Member of 85 Broads since 2002, she is a chapter leader for San Francisco since 2003 and has been leading the efforts in India to establish the network since fall 2007.

Manju has Master’s degrees in mathematics and ethnomusicology.  She is an avid traveler and since fall 2007 has visited over ten countries.
