Alliance for Climate Protection
The Alliance is a new organization engaged in an unprecedented public education campaign on both the urgency and the solvability of the climate crisis. Building on the momentum of “An Inconvenient Truth,” their objective is to persuade individuals, communities, states, and corporations across the world to begin to quickly reduce their own greenhouse pollution in order to become "carbon neutral." Furthermore, The Alliance is working to move the USA past a tipping point, beyond which political and business leaders and all sectors of civil society compete to offer policies and programs that will sharply reduce emissions.
The Climate Project
“The Climate Project” conducts training programs led by Al Gore for people in the US and the world to give versions of Al Gore’s slide show on which the movie and book An Inconvenient Truth is based. There are over 1300 trained presenters and more trainings planned in the near future. On February 12, 2009, Twestival raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for charity:water at more than 200 events around the world. This September 10-13th 2009, Twestival will again rally teams of volunteers around the world to host events in their local cities.
Twestival Local will support various causes that are important in local communities. Teams select local not-for-profits for which to fundraise and raise awareness for via social media tools including Twitter.
