no impact man"No Impact Man" chronicles the real-life adventures of Colin Beavan, his wife and daughter in Manhattan for a whole year... but with a small twist -- they strive to drastically reduce their carbon footprint and leave no impact on the environment while doing so.

Their family "turns off the electricity, stops making garbage, gives up TV, taxis and takeout; and becomes a walking, bicycling, composting, tree-hugging, polar bear saving, local food-eating citizens...."

The movie (and accompanying book) proves to show you easy and challenging ways to reduce your impact on the planet. The family shows how much money they saved using candles instead of electricity and buying organic produce from local farms. And director Justin Schein documents the production's approach to low-impact filmmaking on the movie's blog.

"No Impact Man" opened in theaters last weekend. This film should not be missed!
